The Flag

Just beneath the typical Hezbollah logo, the smaller and thinner slogan reads: "Hezbollah Islamic Resistance in Syria", while the larger bottom slogan reads: "We Yearn for You Zaynab"; c. June 2014. Like Hezbollah, this Shia-Muslim militia was organized to advance Shia-Iran influence along the Golan Heights border between southwestern Syria and northeastern Israel - essentially to force Israel out of the Syrian Golan Heights that Israel captured during the June 1967 war. Zaynab was the daughter of Ali (the first Shiite Imam) and his wife Fatimah. Other Shia militias using the word "Zainab" on their flags include: "Zainab Bde (Iran), "Followers of Zainab Bde (Syria), and "Ya Zinab al-Kobra".
